| A couple notches stronger than Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur, Excalibur Legend is a phenomenally unique cigar that is full-bodied, full-flavored, and fully enjoyable.
The name, Hoyo de Monterrey, is one of the most recognized names in the cigar industry. The brand originally developed in Cuba, but production was eventually moved to Honduras in 1969, where the cigars are still rolled at the Villizon Factory; well-known for its production of Punch and Sancho Panza. Even after the embargo, this brand is still associated with the best Cuban cigars on the market.
Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur Legend is incredibly complex due to its Nicaraguan and Dominican filler. The majority of the filler is ligero, which produces robust notes of earth with exaggerated hints of spice in the aftertaste. In addition, Legend also contains a unique tobacco grown on the volcanic island of Ometepe, also in Nicaragua. This tobacco creates a complexity unnoticed in other cigars, creating oak flavors, cedar, and a rich aftertaste, which lingers on the palate far after the cigar has extinguished. The wrapper concealing this incredible filler is a dark Connecticut Havana, which has some veins but burns evenly, allowing for a more robust flavor and a smooth character.
