| EP Carrillo Cigars - Ernesto Perez-Carillo is was the man behind the famous La Gloria Cubana cigars. A few years ago, Ernesto sold his company to the international cigar giant Swedish Match (Swedish Match also owns General Cigar.) Like most entrepreneurs, the corporate world just isn't right for creative free spirits like Ernesto.
Now I'm pretty sure Ernesto has enough money in his bank account where he could retire and smoke cigars all day. So I believe Ernesto when he tells me that the reason he started this new cigar company is so he can work with his two children, Ernesto III and Lissette, and pass on his cigar making skills like his father did for him.
(These two aren't actually kids, they are in their late twentys and mid thirties.)
The E.P. Carrillo Edici?n Inaugral 2009, is a medium-bodied cigar, and is the first cigar to be released from their new company, EPC Cigar Co. The E.P. Carrillo Edici?n Inaugural 2009 blend consists of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos aged 2-5 years and an exclusive Ecuadorian natural wrapper that was grown in limited qualities.
Ernesto doesn't have a lot of this wrapper so there aren't going to be a lot of these cigars made.
We are excited about Ernesto's new venture and believe this cigar is the beginning of a new era of cigar manufacturing for him and his family. With his vast experience in the cigar industry each cigar released should be a unique smoking experience. We are anxiously awaiting!
